Lawrence D. Howell

Lawrence D. Howell (“Lonnie”) has amassed over 40 years of experience in Financial Services and Private Banking. He is the co-founder of EFG International and served as its Chief Executive Officer until June 28, 2011. Prior to EFGI, he served as Head of Americas at Coutts & Co. International Private Banking from 1989 to 1995 where he was responsible for all clients domiciled in the Americas as well as all Coutts & Co. offices in the US, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman and Latin America.

Before this, he also served as Head of Americas and Asia in Zurich of Coutts & Co. From 1986 to 1989, he served as Vice President in charge of Swiss Super High Net Worth Clients at Citibank Switzerland. From 1985 to 1986 he was with McKinsey & Co. Lonnie served as Chief of Staff for the Head of Private Banking for Europe, Middle East, and Africa of Citibank from 1981 to 1984.

He started his career as internal legal counsel with Citibank from 1978 to 1981. Lonnie holds a BA and JD from the University of Virginia.

Clément Ducasse

Prior to founding Capital Union Bank in 2013, Clément co-founded Union Capital Group SA in 2006,  a highly successful boutique financial advisor specializing in derivatives & structured solutions dedicated to the private banking sector in Switzerland, Europe, and Latin America.

Clément formerly developed his expertise by working at HSBC Corporate & Investment bank as a derivatives and structured products specialist dedicated to family offices and independent asset managers in Europe. Clement earned a bachelor’s in Business Administration from ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Clément also serves as the Managing Partner of UCAP Bahamas.

Sting Kuo

UCAP Taiwan

Sting Kuo joins Union Capital Group with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services and banking industry. He is a founding partner and serves as the Chief Marketing Officer of UCAP Taiwan.

Before coming to Union Capital Group, he established himself as a Managing Director at EFG Bank AG/Hong Kong where he managed portfolios with a combined assets under management of USD 2.3 billion for client family offices.

In addition to EFG, Sting’s tenure also includes a period as the Head of Debt Capital Markets at ABN AMRO Bank and at Citibank’s Merchant Banking Group, where he started his career.

Joseph Chao

UCAP Taiwan

Joseph Chao brings more than 25 years of management experience in the financial services and banking industry. He is the General Manager and a founding partner of UCAP Taiwan.

Prior to joining Union Capital Group, Joseph was the Joint Chief Executive Officer and Marketing Head of EFG Bank. Before his tenure at EFG, Joseph developed his expertise as a Senior VP at Republic National Bank before taking on the same position at HSBC following the purchase of Republic National Bank by HSBC in 1999.

In addition, he also served as a VP at Crédit Lyonnais. Joseph began his career as an Assistant VP at Citibank’s Merchant Banking Group.

Y. N. Nagendra

UCAP Hong Kong Asset Management

Mr. Y. N. Nagendra joined UCAP Hong Kong Asset Management Ltd after six years at Bank J. Safra Sarasin as Vice Chairman and Deputy CEO Asia. Before stepping down recently, he also held the post of Global Head of Strategic Resourcing – a role in which he was responsible for hiring senior bankers across the globe.

Prior to Bank J. Safra Sarasin, he was with Bank of Singapore (BoS) as Managing Director and global head of India subcontinent, Middle East and Africa overseeing a team based in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and London. He has also been Head for South Asia, Middle East & Africa and the UK at ING Private Banking, which later became Bank of Singapore. He started his career in private banking with BNP and then moved to Rabobank.

Sambit Mangaraj

UCAP Hong Kong Asset Management

Mr. Mangaraj has been involved in the financial market for over 15 years, providing securities dealing, wealth management, and client advisory services, including the distribution and marketing of investment products to institutional and high net worth clients.

He has previously worked in a number of leading regional and global financial institutions, including Darashaw and Company Pvt. Ltd, an investment banking and brokerage company in India as Senior Associate from June 2000 to April 2003, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited (in India) as Group Solutions Manager from May 2003 to June 2005, ICICI Bank Limited (in Hong Kong) from July 2005 to June 2007,  and most recently at EFG Bank, AG (in Hong Kong)as Managing Director until March 2013. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from the Goa Institute of Management in India.

Akshat Jaswal, CFA

UCAP Asset Management (Singapore)

Akshat has 19 years of financial markets experience in sales and advisory roles across asset classes. He has worked closely with High Net Worth Individuals as well as corporates, advising them on their investments and helping them manage their currency, interest rate and commodity risks.

Before joining UCAP, Akshat worked as an investment advisor with UBP and ANZ. Prior to that, he worked with global derivative brokerage houses like INTL FCStone and MF Global where he set up new product lines and was responsible for generating sales and revenues across those lines.

Akshat is a CFA® charterholder and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with a specialisation in Finance.

Jean-Francois Fiammingo

UCAP Wealth Management Switzerland

Jean-Francois brings over 35 years of experience in financial services and private banking. He served as a member of General Management at UBP – Union Bancaire Privée for more than 20 years as a member of the Private Banking Department and then as head of the Independent Asset Manager Department.

Prior to UBP, Jean-Francois served as head of the Independent Asset Manager Department at Credit Suisse Geneva from 1995-1997 and at BSI Lugano in various positions internationally in corporate and private banking.

Jean-Francois has spent most of his career dealing with international clients in the Private Banking business both in Switzerland (Lugano and Geneva) and abroad (Hong Kong, in particular). He also benefits from wide experience in corporate and trade finance acquired in New York and then in Switzerland.
